Our Kerala Yoga Retreat

Our next retreat will be 1st-10th April 2016 in Kovalam, Kerala

FullSizeRender (3)If you’ve never been to Kerala, it is wicked!!!! We go back year after year because its so awesome. Our yoga retreat next year will be for 10 days, from April 1st-10th 2016, for anyone who wants to come and immerse themselves in yoga and this beautiful country. . In India yoga is a part of everyday life and goes hand in hand with Ayurveda, a science of maintaining heath and preventing disease which has been used for over 5000 years. A retreat is simply the best way to slow down, recharge, gain perspective, and spend time as a human being rather than a human doing.

IMG_0111_730We will be doing classes every morning and again at sunset most days in the yoga shala with a breath taking view overlooking the Arabian Sea, either with the fierceness of Gwen or the Grace of Raj…there’ll be something for everybody! We will do a mix of Bikram, Vinyasa Flow, Yin Yoga and meditation, for all levels, no matter if you are a beginner or experienced yogi. There will also be a couple of posture clinics to help you get your alignment right and sort out your breathing.

Raj has found a beautiful Ayurvedic centre nearby, where the local Ayurvedic doctor will customise treatments for you, if you really want to give your health an upgrade while you’re here. Or should you wish to do more yoga, meditation, massage or trips anywhere, it can easily be arranged. We will throw in a few excursions,at cost, to the local backwaters, an elephant sanctuary and a trip to the capital, Trivandrum, if you’re interested.

00standingbow2One of the big highlights is the food. Breakfast everyday is amazing…you have coffee, juice, fresh fruit and then anything you want from masala dosa, pooris with channa, idlis with sambar or maybe just scrambled eggs on toast!? Then in the evening Raj will take you out to some of his favourite local restaurants. A huge part of Keralan culture is fishing and the seafood comes off the boats fresh that day….so whereas normally yoga retreats are all vego, we’ll be going pesco!

We don’t even want to talk about the venue because its so awesome!!!but we really should to give you a heads up.
Firstly lets talk about the mosquitoes..what mosquitoes!? Bugs are a non-issue (unheard of in India!) thanks to the sea breeze. All rooms are beautiful and spotless, with sea facing balconies and incredible views. We are positioned right on the beach so you can literally step out of the hotel onto the beach. Keralan people are really welcoming and the staff here are so friendly and helpful.

The price of the retreat is £995 for 10 days and includes accommodation (in a shared room), airport transfers, 2 freshly prepared  meals per day, yoga and posture clinics. This price excludes flights.
